American-Palestinian Youth Freed Following Nine Months in Israel's Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian youth after completing 270 days in Israeli detention without charge gained freedom.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested this past winter within the occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.

American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with the news of Mohammed's release.

Now sixteen years old, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.

Family described him as visibly pale and thin, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson conveyed their "immense relief".

Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Currently, we're concentrating on getting Mohammed urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after experiencing Israel's abuse and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."

The state department said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance to Mohammed's family.

{"The Trump Administration gives utmost importance to the protection and welfare for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.

A group of American legislators had signed a letter to the state department and the administration, demanding more be done for his freedom.

Mohammed's parent, a father-of-four who runs an ice cream business based in Tampa, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing due to physical abuse.

The father hadn't visited or communicated with his son since the arrest, and only heard about his son's condition through judicial records.

The teenager remained absent formal charges in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations and murder.

An estimated several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.

Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, including UN bodies, document cases involving physical abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, the uncle stated the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials succumbed to assault by Israeli settlers during a confrontation last July.

Initially, military authorities reported they were examining reports a Palestinian civilian was deceased.

Both young men were employed together in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.

No one has been charged with Sayfollah's killing.

"We anticipate United States leadership to safeguard our relatives," Mr Kadur said.
