British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”
