Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

My son told me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have have lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
