Iran Reports Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
