'Living a Nightmare': Relatives of Unaccounted For Teens Await Answers After Alpine Blaze
The families of young people unaccounted for after a devastating inferno at a bar in a Swiss ski resort are enduring an painful wait for answers and pleading for clues about their loved ones online.
The blaze ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Verified video show the roof structure catching alight as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.
Authorities have stated that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the fatalities of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and injured another 119. Officials noted on Friday that 113 of the injured have been identified, with the process ongoing to locate the remaining few.
In the interim, families and friends have been taking to social media to appeal for clues about their loved ones who were at the bar that night.
Appeals for the Unaccounted For
The location of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his family.
The who lives of Lutry near the city, explained to a local newspaper that she had returned to Lausanne to see if he was in the medical facility, while his father did the equivalent search in the capital, but did not locate him.

The Italy's government has confirmed that six of its young people are still unaccounted for.

The national sporting body has stated that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the tragedy, paying tribute to a "young athlete who carried with him passion and true sportsmanship."
His parent, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has indicated that a official announcement of his death is awaited.
Additional Missing Individuals
Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also unaccounted for. His mother told reporters that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with a group and ended up at the bar.
"A companion informed me they fled after the fire erupted and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he they were separated," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.
One of his teachers said, "He was known for his kindness and smile, coupled with great maturity. He would frequently offer to get me a coffee."
Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also present on that night, according to media.
Her brother has posted an appeal online, saying the family has had "no news" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.
Officials from her country of origin say they are actively engaged with the case.
