The Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Meeting Against Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

Springer previously helped the Houston Astros winning the championship in the 2017 season.

The Toronto Blue Jays earned a spot in their first championship series following 1993 by overcoming the Mariners in the final Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.

Behind 3-1, Springer delivered a three-run home run in the seventh, propelling the Toronto squad in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 series victory in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the Los Angeles Dodgers, holders of the current crown, in the forthcoming Fall Classic.

"I'm thrilled for this squad, the city, our country," Springer stated, a key player of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "This is such an incredible feeling."

George Springer has now hit 23 playoff homers, ranking him third all-time behind Manny Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"It's hard to imagine another person anywhere that I'd prefer in that spot besides him with his playoff prowess," remarked Blue Jays manager John Schneider.

Seattle, after leading the early in the series, continue to be the only MLB franchise never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson said "certainly that it's going to sting" after his club's elimination at their home ballpark, but commended their work in the campaign.

"They're an exceptional squad. Unfortunately that we had to come out on the wrong side of the series," he continued.

The Blue Jays claimed the World Series on their two prior appearances in the early 90s, and are set to host the Los Angeles in game one on Friday.
